New U9 Team for the 2011-2012 Soccer year
The 02 Cannons formed during the spring of 2011, and played in their first season this fall. The team consists of boys born after August 1, 2002. If interested in being considered for the team please contact Coach Darsh Bhangdia. Contact information is below.
Introduction from Coach Darsh
My name is Darsh Bhangdia and I am currently a coach of the U-12 98 Cannons for NUU. I have a son who will be playing U-9 in the fall and I received your names from Chris Baylor as parents of kids who might be interested in playing U-9 soccer in the fall. I will be coaching the team with help from a few other parents who have expressed interest and wanted to gauge your level of interest for your son as far as playing on the team. The U-9 age range is from August 1 2002-July 31 2003. If your child was born before August 1 2002, then he would be too old to play u-9 in the fall. If your son was born after July 31 2003, he can play but would just be playing one year up, which is fine.
The plan will be to play CPYSL which is the Harrisburg league that most of the NUU teams play in during the fall and spring. This is not much different than playing NorCennPenn as far as travel as most of the away games are only about one hour away and the home games are in Lewisburg. We would also be doing some tournaments in the fall, winter, and spring. As far as practices we would have 2 practices per week.
The goal for the team at this young age would be development of the kids during practices, but also to compete at a high level in the league and the tournaments.
Please let me know if you are interested in pursuing joining the team and then once I have responses from everybody, I will set up a parent meeting for sometime in April to discuss the plans further.

Recent 02 Cannons News
Congratulations to the 02 Cannons on their successful fall season in North Union United and CPYSL!
Newly formed in the Spring of 2011, the Cannons entered the Premier Division of CPYSL this fall, with stiff competition from four other teams. The boys played extremely well in September, and by the middle of the season were at the top of the division with a 3-0-1 record. October proved to be a challenging month with a tough loss against CASA Vipers and a tie with Penn Legacy Black, as the Cannons slipped to a third place spot. Determination and hard work paid off in November with two crucial wins propelling the Cannons back on top for an overall season first place finish.
