Spencer Reinford of NUU 94 Santos was invited by the US Soccer Federation to participate in a US Soccer Training Center event on May 22, 2012.  The event is designed to replicate national team training camps and to identify players.  Spencer is one of two players selected from Eastern PA in the 95 age group.  Spencer was identified while playing for the Eastern PA 95 ODP team.  He has been a member of the ODP team in 2010, 2011, and 2012.  In April he traveled with the ODP team to Barcelona Spain to train and play friendly matches.

North Union United is forming a Under-9 girls club soccer team for the fall 2012 season.  North Union United is a club based in Lewisburg with 23 boys and girls teams at ages ranging from U8-U18.  The club is committed to bringing together kids who are excited about playing soccer and giving them the opportunity to play at a high level of competition.

 Chris Magee will be the coach of the team.  Chris has been playing soccer since he was six years old and has been coaching his kids teams for the past four years.  He believes that kids learn soccer best by playing in game situations, so in practice he emphasizes playing small-sided games where the girls improve their fitness and get lots of touches on the ball while having fun at the same time.  The main goal is to develop the girls as individuals and as players and to give them a chance to play a game they love in a positive, team oriented environment.

The U9 girls team next fall will play in the competitive Central Pennsylvania Youth Soccer League with four games in Lewisburg and four games in or around the Harrisburg Area.  The team will also play in several tournaments in the Lancaster and Philadelphia Areas.  To be eligible for the team your daughter would need to be born on or after August 1, 2003.  If your daughter is interested in playing for the team or to find out more information contact Chris Magee at cmagee@bucknell.edu or 570-374-5741 before May 13.

The application for the 2012 NUU Summer Camp is now available on the Club Camp page.  Applications to the camp will be accepted up until June 30, 2012.  The camp runs from July 17-20, 2012 at Cannon Park in Lewisburg.  Any questions about the camp should be referred to Chris Baylor at cbaylor@ptd.net or 570-412-6900.
